Thanks to the diligent work and vision of co-founders Julie Dickinson and Tammy Dickerson, the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants was founded in 2010.
Mission Statement of the AALNC:
The American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants promotes the professional advancement of registered nurses consulting within the legal arena by providing a forum for education and exchange of information.
The Connecticut Chapter was founded with the goal of promoting the professional advancement of registered nurse practicing in a consulting capacity within the legal arena and providing a resource for information on matters relating to legal aspects of nursing and health care law.
The legal nurse consultant is a licensed, registered nurse who performs a critical analysis of clinical and administrative nursing practice, healthcare facts and issues and their outcomes for the legal profession, healthcare professions, consumers of healthcare and legal services, and others as appropriate. With a strong educational and experiential foundation, the legal nurse consultant is qualified to assess adherence to standards and guidelines of healthcare practice as it applies to the nursing and healthcare professions.
